Before joining Hunt Communication in 2005, Cynthia spent the first decade of her career working in sales, marketing and training, and development at Pearson Canada, the largest publishing company in the country.
With her innovative and energetic approach, Cynthia took on the challenge of developing a new niche in Pearson's trade division: business-to-business sales. She successfully sold the vision of using a book as a promotional piece to Bank of Montreal, SaskTel and TD Canada Trust, just to name a few. As a Marketing Manager for the Higher Education division at Pearson, Cynthia focused on educating the sales force and select university faculty committees on new titles and software in development and quickly rose to become the top performer within her team.
Early in her career, Cynthia recognized a need in the market to publish a book on student financing. She was instrumental in marketing and selling the book to high schools and post-secondary institutions as well as Fortune 500 corporations including Microsoft Canada, Coca-cola Canada, TD Bank and the Royal Bank of Canada. The book reached sales of over five times that of a best seller.
