Kelly McEvenue offers unparalleled expertise in voice and movement coaching to corporate executives, politicians, lawyers and teachers.
For 26 seasons, she has been a teacher of the Alexander Technique and movement coach at the Stratford Festival Theatre's Conservatory for Classical Theatre Training. (The Alexander Technique is the study of movement and the application of principles that encourage the body to move with greater ease, remove physical habits that detract from the message and open the voice to engage and maintain the interest of others.)
Kelly has taught at the University of Toronto's Opera School, Ryerson Theatre School, Humber College, Mirvish Productions (The Lion King) and CanStage (The Syringa Tree) and is an Associate Artist at Soulpepper Theatre Company. She has assisted renowned voice teacher Patsy Rodenburg in several International Workshops for Voice Teachers at the Royal National Theatre and has taught at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in the U.K. She is a guest artist at the Interlochen School for Performing Arts and Wayne State University in Michigan.
Kelly has worked as a consultant on feature films including Tagged: The Jonathan Wamback Story and Jeremy Podeswa's The Five Senses and Fugitive Pieces. She also has presented the Alexander Technique on CBC's The Nature of Things and The Health Show.
Kelly's book “The Actor and the Alexander Technique” was first published in England with Methuen and then with Palgrave-MacMillan in New York.
